The tribes were the Inuktitut, Athapaskan, Tlingit. The Northwest Coast has a diverse landscape which is composed of mountains, oceans, and rainforests. These geographical features helped the tribes that once lived in the Northwest Coast because it held food and tools that helped them in there everyday lives.
2. What kind of foods was available? What did they do to obtain and preserve food? They were many kinds of food such as, fish, sea mammals, shellfish, birdsdeer and otherkinds of game animals. The people had to hunt for there food but they uasally go fishing because they had a big ocean full of fish and creatures.
3. What kind of shelters did these First Nations groups build? What building materials did they use? How did this kind of shelters meet their needs? They built houses for there needs. They used materials that they were able to find in the forest and other places. Their shelters meet there needs by helping them. Their shelters help them by keeping them warm and help them stay out of the rain and snow.
4. What did they use for transportation? What is it made of? They used canoes as transportatation.The canoes were made out of birch bark. Birch bark is a tree which is light, hard and smooth. It took aleast 8-12 to make 1 canoe.
5. What did they celebrate? One of the customs that they celebrated was called Potlatch. Ceremonies and holidays were different in different tribes. Most of the ceremonies and holidays involved dancing and gift-giving. Dancers usually wore animal masks and costumes. The costumes were made out of paint and feathers. Hosts pampered their guests with gifts to show how wealthy they were.
